How We Did It - Page 3
In this picture you see the finished product on the outside. The old meter box is removed and we used some standard grout mix to patch the area where it was. The only thing we have to is remove the wire from the old service line.
We are NOT going to remove the steel 2" line itself where the old service line comes through the roof. First, we would have to patch a hole where it comes through the roof. Second, the existing line will make an EXCELLENT pole for our outdoor FM transmitter antenna. We will remove the wire and cap at the top. Then when the show is running we will run the 75 ohm coaxial cable up through that pipe and attach the antenna at the top using the clamp that is there already.
Here is the finished product on the inside. This is from 2007 so there are only 8 controllers. They are all mounted next to the new panel box and are fed directly from there. I used 12 AWG wire to go from the controllers down to the terminal blocks at the bottom.
Here is a better view of the terminal blocks. This allows me to hook everything here and I don't have to put up with attaching directly to the controllers. This took a little extra time to do, but it allows the cords to lay flat instead of a vertical jumble of wires. It also prevents any stress on the controllers from having all that wire hanging down.
NOTE: If I had to do this over, I would use the push button type terminals rather than the screw type. It takes HOURS to screw in all the cords. Live and learn, though.
